Salvation & Baptism

Salvation

We believe there is a real kingdom with a real king, and his name is Jesus.  He laid down His life for us and then rose from the grave three days later, rescuing us from the penalty of sin and conquering death, Hell and Satan.  If we repent, believe, and follow Him, we can be a part of His kingdom.

Baptism

The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to become a Christ-follower. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism:

  • Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized.
  • Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked?

You can find out more about what the Bible says regarding baptism by visiting the Next Steps Room, located south of the Worship Center and directly across from the doors leading into the Connection.

Children will need to attend a NEW U class before they get baptized.

Children's Baptism

New U is a one-night class for children (Grade 5 and under) and their parents to learn together about child salvation and baptism. The class is required before baptism at First McKinney and one parent/guardian must attend with their child.
