

For your safety, police officers and the safety team are onsite every Sunday, and the safety team is onsite when Wednesday nights are in session. We are also prepared for medical emergencies, and our campus is equipped with updated security cameras and emergency alert systems. Text UPDATE to 96123 to receive important updates.

In the event of an emergency, our safety wardens and safety team will check throughout the campus to locate anyone who may need assistance exiting the building, such as those with limited mobility, visual or auditory impairments, or other special needs.

Our campus is fully equipped with fire alarms and sprinkler systems throughout each building. If the fire alarm sounds, please evacuate the building immediately and proceed beyond the fire lanes to make room for arriving emergency personnel. Please refrain from using your vehicle to leave the campus. We will be evacuating minors and their safety is our upmost priority.

- Worship Center and Chapel - Evacuate using the nearest marked fire exit and proceed to the Louisiana Parking Lot.
- Life Center - Evacuate using the nearest marked fire exit and proceed to the Life Center Parking Lot towards Graves St.
- Community Lobby - Evacuate using the nearest marked fire exit and proceed to the Students Parking Lot.
- Students Building - Evacuate using the nearest marked fire exit. Student worship center and classrooms will be evacuated to the Ball Feld Parking Lot.
- Kids Building - Our staff will evacuate all children from the Kids Building to the Ball Field Parking Lot. Please do not attempt to enter the Kids Building during evacuation; our staff will reunify families once everyone is evacuated safely outside.

In the event of severe inclement weather while our campus is occupied, such as an outdoor weather warning or a tornado warning, please follow the directions of safety wardens and the safety team to move to a secure interior location on the lowest floor possible, such as the basement or interior hallways away from glass and windows.

Do as you are instructed by the police, and provide them with any information as to location and number of suspects, clothing descriptions, types of weapons, or other relevant information.

- Stay calm, alert, and silent. Keep thinking and be ready to adapt.
- Lock doors, turn off lights and move away from sight
- Assess: decide to run, hide, or fight
- Run: Whenever possible, flee away from the sound of gunfire. Evacuate the building or area as quickly and safely as possible. Before leaving be aware of possible escape routes.
- Hide: If there is no safe escape route, hide. Find a room or area that provides some protection. Turn out the lights, silence your phone, lock the door, and barricade the entrance as much as possible by stacking furniture in front of any access point. Then, call 911 and tell the dispatcher who you are, where you are, and what you have seen or heard.
- Fight: If you are too close to the threat to run, or you have tried to hide but the threat is getting close, prepare to fight. Look for anything that could be used as a weapon to defend yourself, such as tables, chairs, fire extinguishers, sticks, etc. Remember, should you have to go on the attack, use speed, strength, surprise, and aggression to overcome your opponent.

First McKinney is equipped with multiple AEDs (automated external defibrillators) to provide emergency aid to anyone facing cardiac arrest.
